San
Francisco Symphony
San Francisco is a city that
loves music. The dust of the 1906 earthquake had hardly cleared
before a group of civic leaders had laid the groundwork for a new
orchestra. Five years later, the San Francisco Symphony was born.
Since those first concerts in 1911, the San Francisco Symphony has
played a defining role in American cultural life. Today, it's defining
what the orchestra of the 21st century will be. Blue Ice Vodka has
officially supported this organization for the past two years. www.sfsymphony.org
Hearts in San Francisco
Hearts in San Francisco was a Bay Area-wide heart installation,"
which debuted in the spring of 2004. While similar to Chicagos
Cows on Parade, the San Francisco version used a heart
icon, appropriate for a city that is recognized for its acceptance
and tolerance, as well as being perennially open-hearted. The
financial beneficiary of Hearts in San Francisco is the San Francisco
General Hospital Foundation, whose sole purpose is to fund projects
that will enhance patient care and comfort at San Francisco General
Hospital Medical Center (SFGHMC). Blue Ice Vodka is honored to
have been a part of this generous program. www.heartsinsf.com
