Simple Cocktail Recipes for Tailgating Parties

NFL and College Football are in full effect, and as we bid summer farewell, tailgating season is starting to sweep the nation. Over the next four months, every NFL and College Football stadium parking lot will be filled with fans, sipping, barbecuing and celebrating their favorite teams. Even if you are not that into football, tailgating parties are more of a cultural experience. These parking lot takeovers are an entity of their own, and serve as a stage for food and beverage aficionados to take in the local culture. Below are some easy-to-make cocktails for your next tailgating party:

Bloody Mary (79 calories)

1 ounce Blue Ice Potato Vodka (52 cal per oz)

4 ounces low –sodium tomato juice (21 cal )

2 dashes Worcestershire Sauce (5 cal/tbsp)

2 dashes Tabasco Sauce (1 cal/tbsp) 

1 trimmed celery

Method: Mix Blue Ice Vodka with tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce in medium glass. Load larger glass with ice cubes and pour mixed drink over ice cubes. Stir with the celery stalk.


The Fizzy Cooler 


2 ounces Blue Ice Potato Vodka

4 ounces San Pellegrino grapefruit soda

Grapefruit peel, for garnish

Method: Fill highball glasses with ice until chilled. Pour Blue Ice Vodka with soda and garnish with grapefruit wedge. 


Orange Tangy Fizz


4 oz San Pellegrino Aranciata (Orange Flavored)

1.5 oz Vodka 

A thin half-moon slice

Method: Pour orange juice and vodka into a highball glass, fill with ice and stir to combine. Garnish with orange wheel.
